Nigerian Labour Congress Slams Ebonyi Governor for Threatening Striking Workers

The Nigeria Labour Congress has condemned Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru's threat to fire striking workers, as protests also spread in Akwa Ibom and Kaduna states.
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has condemned the threat by Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru to sack striking workers, calling it "irresponsible". The condemnation comes as the strike gains momentum, with Cross River and other states joining in solidarity with the striking workers in Akwa Ibom, which has also withdrawn from work. Meanwhile, Kaduna State has withdrawn from participating in the ongoing nationwide strike. The NLC President, Joe Ajaero's, statement highlights the growing resistance against what he sees as authoritarian attempts to quash worker protests.
