Senate President Godswill Akpabio honoured ex-Delta Governor James Ibori, who was jailed in the UK for fraud and money laundering, in the Senate chamber on Wednesday. Ibori was convicted of embezzling £15 million while serving as governor from 1999 to 2007. The Senate President paid tribute to his contributions to the country despite facing legal challenges abroad. Akpabio acknowledged Ibori's service to Delta State during his tenure.
