12 Family Members Fall Ill with Rare Fungal Disease After Cave Expedition in Costa Rica

An extended family of 12 members has been diagnosed with a fungal disease after exploring a bat cave in Costa Rica. The family, consisting of six adults and six children, returned home with souvenirs but also brought back the infection. The individuals affected are spread across three states: Georgia, Texas, and Washington. The cause of the outbreak remains unknown.
