Eleven National Park Service workers were evacuated by helicopter from Santa Rosa Island in California amid a rapidly spreading human-caused wildfire. The fire has engulfed over 10,000 acres.

A Santa Barbara County Fire Department helicopter evacuated 11 National Park Service employees from Santa Rosa Island on Sunday as a human-caused wildfire spread across more than 10,000 acres and threatened the island. The fire broke out in the area, prompting the evacuation of the workers who were conducting conservation efforts on the island. A total of 17 firefighters were also sent to combat the blaze. No injuries were reported during the evacuation.
