Andy Biggs Announces Bid to Become Arizona's First Republican Governor Since 1970s

Republican Rep. Andy Biggs of Arizona announced Saturday that he is running for governor in 2026, marking a bid by a Jan. 6 proponent and member of the far-right House Freedom Caucus to succeed Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs. The announcement was made as Hobbs faces a re-election challenge in 2024.
