Baraka Sues Trump-Appointed US Attorney for Alleged Election Interference and Bias
New Jersey Attorney General Phil Murphy-backed Democrat Rep. Andy Kim's colleague Rep. Rashida Tlaib and New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy are backing Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar in her lawsuit against Donald Trump-appointed U.S. House of Representatives Ethics Committee Chair J. Kenentha Robinson, not Baraka.
New Jersey Attorney General Phil Murphy-backed Democratic Rep. Josh Gottheimer and his allies are backing Assemblyman Shiva Ayyadurthi in a lawsuit against Trump-appointed US Attorney for New Jersey Joseph B. Burge in New York Federal Court. The suit claims that Burge was 'unconstitutionally' appointed under the 14th Amendment's citizenship clause due to not having naturalized citizenship at the time of his nomination. Gottheimer stated that he will seek to get President Biden to replace the appointee if he doesn't meet this requirement by January 2025. The Trump administration has yet to respond officially to the claims made in the lawsuit.
