Dem Senator Ed Markey Faces 79-Year-Old Challenger in Primary Showdown

Democrat Sen. Ed Markey is facing a primary challenge from Representative Seth Moulton, who is making age a central issue of his bid to unseat the 79-year-old lawmaker. Moulton, also 39, launched his U.S. Senate campaign on Wednesday. The 79-year-old Markey has been serving in the Massachusetts Senate since 2013, but faces his first primary challenge in nearly two decades.
