Epstein's Biographer Urged Him to Criticize Trump for 'Political Cover' in Leaked Emails
Republicans on the House Oversight Committee released tens of thousands of Jeffrey Epstein emails that were previously withheld, hours after Democrats accused them of leaking sensitive information. The newly released emails appear to show biographer Jonathan Vankin urging Epstein to criticize Donald Trump in order to gain 'political cover'.
The House Oversight Committee released tens of thousands of previously unreleased emails from convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, including some in which his biographer urged him to criticize President Trump for 'political cover'. The emails were obtained by Republicans following a dispute with Democrats over selective leaks. In the emails, Epstein's biographer Ghislaine Maxwell described targeting Trump as a way to gain favor with Republican leaders and avoid scrutiny of Epstein's sex trafficking allegations. The move is seen as a counter-attack against Democrats' claims that they selectively leaked the emails to damage Republicans.
