EU Extends Sanctions Against Russia Amid Widespread Attacks in Ukraine

The European Union has extended sanctions against individuals and entities supporting Russia's war on Ukraine, amid ongoing attacks that have killed six people in Ukraine as Russian forces continue to target Ukrainian energy infrastructure. The EU voted to renew the sanctions, which aim to increase pressure on Moscow over its actions in Ukraine. Sanctions were first imposed on Russia in response to its annexation of Crimea in 2014 and have been repeatedly extended since then.
