Families Seek $800M from French Cement Co. Found Guilty of ISIS Bribery Scandal
Military families demand the US Department of Justice distribute nearly $800 million from French cement company LafargeHolcim, found guilty of bribing ISIS in 2017 to clear bomb-laden areas in Syria. The company was convicted of paying $22 million in bribes.
Military families are urging the Department of Justice (DOJ) to distribute nearly $800 million from French cement company LafargeHolcim, which was found guilty of bribing ISIS in 2017. The company agreed to pay a $390 million fine and forfeit its U.S. operations as part of the settlement. The funds are intended for compensation for victims of the terrorist organization, including families of those injured or killed while serving overseas. The DOJ has yet to announce when the distribution will take place.
