GOP Governor Kelly Ayotte Cruises to Primary Victory in High-Stakes General Election Battle

Incumbent GOP governor Kelly Ayotte rolled to a primary victory after keeping distance from Donald Trump, setting up a high-stakes general election battle against Democratic gubernatorial nominee Cinde Warmington. Ayotte's opponents struggled to gain traction with voters, while she focused on her own message and policy initiatives. With the primary win in hand, Ayotte is now firmly positioned for a November showdown against Warmington. The general election is expected to be a closely contested and highly anticipated matchup between the two candidates.
