In a massive joint effort, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Miami and Florida law enforcement agencies arrested nearly 800 illegal immigrants during the first four days of Operation Cross Country, a nationwide crackdown on human trafficking and smuggling. The operation, which began on Tuesday, targeted suspected gang members and individuals involved in human trafficking. ICE officials reported that nearly all of those arrested are believed to be foreign nationals living in the United States without proper documentation.
