A federal judge has temporarily blocked the Trump administration from accessing sensitive medical records of minors who received gender identity care at hospitals in New York City. The ruling, made on Tuesday, grants protection to healthcare institutions in the city that provided such care to minors under age 18. The decision comes as part of a lawsuit filed by several organizations, including the American Civil Liberties Union and the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, which argued that the administration's attempts to obtain these records were unconstitutional. The judge's order applies to 15 major New York City hospitals that treat minors.
