Old Dominion University Shooting Suspect Had Prior ISIS Conviction, Released Early from Prison

A suspect in the killing of an Old Dominion University ROTC instructor was released early from prison after being convicted of providing material support to ISIS and had previously been involved in a fatal shooting at a community college, authorities said. The gunman, who has not been officially identified, killed a 45-year-old instructor while on campus. He had received a shorter sentence than expected due to a prior conviction that was reduced as part of a plea deal.
