Only one Democrat votes for voter ID, proof of citizenship in US elections bill

The US House of Representatives passed an election integrity overhaul bill, known as the SAVE America Act, despite opposition from most Democrats, with only one voting in favor of its key provisions on voter ID and proof of citizenship. The bill was approved by a narrow margin, with 220 Republicans supporting it and 213 Democrats opposing it. Rep. Chip Roy sponsored the legislation, which aims to increase election security measures and prevent voter fraud.
