Pakistan and Afghanistan have agreed to a temporary pause in hostilities during the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr this week, officials said, amid weeks of deadly violence between the neighbouring countries. The agreement aims to reduce tensions and promote peace, following months of escalating conflict over issues such as border disputes and security concerns. A ceasefire will be observed from June 15 to 21, a period that coincides with the Eid al-Fitr celebrations in both countries.
