Taliban-Free Haven: Afghan Educator Brings Girl's Education to Rwanda

Afghan girls' educator Shabana Basij-Rasikh has found refuge in Rwanda and established a school to educate young Afghan girls after escaping Taliban rule. The School of Leadership of Afghanistan (SOLA) provides a safe learning environment for the country's female youth.

Shabana Basij-Rasikh, an Afghan woman who escaped Taliban rule, has established a school in Rwanda to educate Afghan girls, known as SOLA. With a new campus and virtual presence, Basij-Rasikh is providing girls with leadership skills and education to empower them against oppression. The School of Leadership of Afghanistan aims to create a network of young women leaders across the country. By doing so, Basij-Rasikh hopes to bring change and positive impact in the lives of Afghan girls.
