Iraq's prime minister announced that senior Islamic State leader Abdullah Maki Mosleh al-Rifai, also known as 'Abu Khadija', has been killed in an operation by members of the Iraqi security forces in Iraq. The US president, Donald Trump, described al-Rifai's life as 'miserable' and stated that his death was a result of the operation, saying it ended his 'terrible, horrible, no good, very bad' life.
